Chikoo shake recipe (Chikoo milkshake) : A Delectable Blend of Flavor and Health

Chikoo shakes or milkshake is a pleasant, healthful, and substantial milkshakes that may be made for breakfast or brunch. In India, chikoo often referred to as sapota or sapodilla, is a common fruit. Many people enjoy this fruit because it is sweet, juicy, and pulpy.

This chikoo shake is my childhood favorite, made with only three ingredients and ready in five minutes. Given that it is made without ice cream, this milkshake is considered to be healthful.

CHIKOO SHAKE

For a colder milkshake add chilled or cold milk. Optionally you could also add a few ice cubes while blending. This sapota milkshake tastes the best as soon as it is made. I won’t recommend refrigerating them or storing them as the taste changes over a period of time. So best enjoyed fresh.

This is an easy-to-make shake recipe with the goodness of chikoo and milk. You can add dry fruits while blending them to make them more nutritious. This shake is too sweet to handle and will be loved by kids. You can give them this milkshake and they will gulp it down happily. You can skip adding sugar to it, as chikoo is very sweet in nature.

Variations

  • Ice cream – If you want a true milkshake, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  You will likely only need a little sugar if you are using ice cream.  In fact, you may not need any addition of sugar. Chikoo has some natural sweetness.
  • Cardamom – Simply add a little cardamom powder.  Cardamom tastes delicious and brings depth to the shake.
  • Chocolate – So, chikoo has notes of caramel. Caramel tastes great with chocolate which is what gives us this combination! Adding a teaspoon or two of chocolate syrup makes for a mouth-watering treat.  You can also optionally use chocolate powder.  Just don’t use too much so it isn’t overpowering the shake.
  • Coconut – Add some desiccated coconut to the blender.  It is a yummy flavor combination that inspired my Chikoo Cheesecake Recipe

Vegan Chikoo Shake

Simply swap out your preferred plant-based milk for the dairy milk in a chikoo milkshake to make it vegan. You will get a lusher shake if you use oat or pea milk, both of which are fairly creamy. Almond, coconut, or soy milk also functions well.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use any sweetener of your choice like sugar, honey, maple syrup, palm sugar, or coconut sugar.
  • Chill the fruit before making a milkshake to get a chilled chikoo milkshake.
  • You can also omit to add sugar if the chickoo is very sweet.
  • Another fruit you can add to this milkshake is mango.
  • The recipe can be scaled easily to make a larger batch

Q: Can I add any other ingredients to enhance the flavor?

A: Absolutely! You can experiment with different flavors and add-ons to enhance your chikoo shake. Some popular additions include a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a pinch of cardamom powder, a drizzle of honey, or a sprinkle of chopped nuts like almonds or cashews.

    Q: Are chikoo shakes healthy?
