Ingredients For Malai chaap

  • 8 soya chaap
  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • salt as required
  • 5 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large chopped onion


  1. Soak and cut the chaap pieces into smaller bites.
  2. In a bowl add curd, cream, coriander powder, garlic and ginger paste, garam masala, pepper, 1 tablespoon of oil, lemon juice, and salt. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. Dip the soya chaap in the marination for half hour
  4. Cover the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  5. In a pan, heat 3-4 tbsp oil and transfer just the marinated chaaps to it and not the entire mixture.
  6. Pan-fry the chaaps until golden in colour. Take it out and keep it aside.
  7. Now Heat 1 tablespoon oil in the pan and add chopped onion
  8. Saute the onions till they are light pink in color
  9. Add the pan-fried pieces of chaaps and the leftover marinade to the pan.
  10. cook everything for 3-4 minutes on slow heat while stirring it continuously.
  11. Add salt as per taste
  12. Remove from heat, mix well and transfer the chaaps to a bowl.
  13. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and slit green chilies and serve.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Malai Chaap with mint chutney and onion rings on the side for the best combo. You can pair it with naan, roti, or tandoori roti for the perfect lip-smacking taste.
