Fruit Chaat Recipe

Children and adults alike like fruit chaat, which is a tasty way to get more fruits in your diet. Making this nutritious chaat only takes a few minutes, and it’s a terrific way to sate your appetite. The ideal summertime recipe is this cool chaat, which may be eaten as a dessert, an evening snack, or to occupy the time in between meals.

I’ve already published a lot of chaat dishes that are savory, spicier, and chatpata in flavor. However, this is a special chaat recipe that may be eaten as a dessert or a snack. It is typically served as a street meal following the savory and spicy chaat recipe as a snack or dessert. however, it may also be offered as dessert following a substantial dinner. I only used spice powders in this recipe, but you could make it more decadent by adding honey or chocolate sauce. I personally do not enjoy this dish with added sweetness, therefore I did not include any. however, if you want to try it out, feel free to include it.

India’s fruit chaat is a well-known and addicting street snack. It is frequently served as a snack and is quite simple to make. The addition of ground spice powders such as chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, and black salt to fruit chaat is one of its distinctive features. Is fruit chaat and fruit salad the same thing? They are not the same, despite some resemblance. Fruit salad is sweet and devoid of any vegetables or spices. While fruit chaat contains acidic, sweet, and savory flavors as well as a spicy, zesty punch.

Ingredients for Fruit Chaat Recipe

  • 1 cup Grapes
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Pear
  • 2 Bananas
  • few Mint Leaves
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder (Kali Mirch)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder (Bhuna Jeera)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Rock Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

Instructions for Fruit Chaat Recipe

  1. Grapes should be washed before being cut from stems.
  2. Apples should be washed, cored, and cut into little cubes.
  3. Pears are also washed and cut into cubes.
  4. Bananas must be peeled and chopped.
  5. Add all the fruits apples, grapes, pears, and bananas to a large mixing bowl.
  6. If desired, mix in some mint leaves that have been coarsely chopped.
  7. Then incorporate chaat masala, roasted cumin powder (bhuna jeera), rock salt (Kala namak), and black pepper powder kali mirch (kali mirch). Add some lemon juice as well.
  8. Toss to thoroughly combine all the ingredients.
  9. The fruit chaat is prepared. Serve it cold after 10 minutes in the refrigerator.

  • Add your preferred fruits first to make it look more colorful and nutrient-dense. Additionally, cut the fruit into the desired size and shape.
  • Use whichever fruits are in season or readily accessible in your area. For instance, I like to use mangoes since they give the chaat a very sweet flavor. I also include the fruits I have on hand. Mangoes, apples, grapes, bananas, oranges, strawberries, kiwis, sapotas, peaches, plums, apricots, pomegranates, and guavas are a few alternatives.
  • Lemon juice typically adds a splash of flavor to fruit chaat however, if it is an orange season, then fresh orange juice or ready-made orange juice can be squeezed into the fruits instead.
  • This dish is a great choice to prepare on days when you’re fasting. If you intend to prepare it on a Hindu fasting day, add the spices in accordance with your family’s fasting customs. If you are fasting, I would advise avoiding the red chili powder and, if desired, adding a small amount of black pepper powder. Instead of black salt, you could also use edible rock salt.
  • The chaat masala powder is one of the most crucial spice mixtures used in a fruit chaat. Supermarkets and online retailers both sell it. In this recipe, I strongly advise using it.

Serving suggestions

Serve fruit chaat in dishes with a few mint sprigs as a garnish. Enjoy the fruit chaat as soon as it is made. Do set aside to have it later.

You can make and serve fruit chaat at any time. But in accordance with Ayurvedic principles, try to eat fruits in the morning or during the day. Ayurveda advises eating fruits or foods made with fruits at least 30 minutes before a meal. Don’t eat fruit after your lunch or meal.
